Coins

I'm in my parent's back yard.
There are 8 baby peacocks wandering around.
(they look like tiny adult birds with fully grown feathers)
They're being watched over by a macaw
(the parrot is a brilliant red).
The sun shines brightly off the feathers of all the birds,
making the colours unbearably bright and rich.
The parrot is perched atop the rusty swingset in the yard,
talking about how the eyes on the tailfeathers grow upwards.
The feathers are much too short to collect, and I leave the yard.
I pass the neighbor's garage
where in the dirt, there are a number of large coins
about the size of sand dollars.
I pick up 8 of them.
They are coppery-steel coloured, and extremely heavy.
I hear the neighbor say that he should put up more logs in the garage.
He sounds defensive and paranoid, so I ignore him.
I walk through the Carnarvon schoolyard, feeling the sides of the stack of coins in my hands.

Spray

I'm on a boat with sea spray flying up all around me.
I'm filled with the feeling of my body moving very quickly.

Dressing

I'm inside a floating shop.
There are no lights on, it's late and quite dark.
I'm trying to put on a dress that has 3 layers to it.
There isn't anyone else in the store,
but I have the feeling that someone important is coming
and I have to get the dress on properly before they get here,
so I'm anxious to figure the garment out.
Out the window I can see a searchlight
shining back and forth across the black water.
