Morning after

It's sometime in the early morning the day after a big event or holiday
I'm walking alone down a virtually abandoned street that has a couple of inches of snow on it.
I look into the gutter next to the street and see a small box
I pick it up and open it.
In the box there is a branch less than three inches long,
and a pair of ornate angel earrings.
I continue my walk, which now seems to be down an equally quiet part of Granville street.
I find a poloroid picture of four people at a dinner party.
The photo is sitting on top of a newspaper box and is a bit damaged from the snow,
but it clearly shows these plain people in party dresses
looking somewhat tipsy and very happy.
I put the picture back where I found it, notice some nearby rubbies,
and move further down the street, where I find an abandoned streetvending box
full of ugly rocker pins, and a box asking for funeral fund donations.
I walk on, watching my breath turn to mist in the cold air.

Enigma

I turn on the T.V. to see Slug/Enigma doing tricks.
He is finally finished his full body tattoo (blue puzzle pieces)
and is wearing a beige loincloth.
He looks bored and somewhat forlorn.
A lot of his pieces have been totally filled in.
He still has a straw stuck through his labret hole.
