Love letters

I receive 3 wonderful letters from James
I'm surprised when I open the mailbox and find them there.
The envelopes are white with windows in them; stapled shut.
I open them and find 3 long letters written very neatly and decorated with colourful patterns.
The letters were written on different days (thursday, friday, and saturday)
and I get them on a monday.
The first letter is full of prose and declarations.
The second letter is shorter,
but the envelope is stuffed with huge, beautiful, multicoloured silk lilies.
Most of the flowers are white with purple and blue speckles.
The third letter has a $10 bill and a bunch of coins enclosed
with a note saying he needs to see me
and to please pick up some fresh oranges to bring him when we meet.
I'm reading the letters at a cafe while sitting on a round turquoise stool at the front counter.
As I'm placing them into a box, the waitress leans over and says
"Yes girls, it's letters like that that make the world go round!"
She grins and winks.
Then the cafe fills up with costumed people who had missed a big Halloween party
and are now making up for lost time.
I look down and find myself wearing a faerie costume.
I knot a heavy rope that is hanging from the ceiling around my waist
so that I can 'fly' over the crowd.
One person is very messed up and I shout that someone should call 911.
I get down, pick up my letters, and after finishing my response to him I leave the cafe
in search of a house he'd lived in in another dream.
I can only find an empty yard with a large tiger wandering through it.
I leave, knowing that James is leaving soon and that I must get my letter to him
before he goes away.
I walk to Darby's, but it's empty and dark.
There's an 'out of business' sign on the window.
I go back to the yard where I saw the tiger, and put the letter in the tiger's mouth,
hoping he'll be able to deliver it for me.

Wheelfeet

I'm at Kits highschool in the locker room before gym class.
I'm changing because we have to play tennis,
but decide to skip class with Emma (W),
so we sneak out.
We're in another area of the school,
sitting on marble steps the colour of salmon and talking.
We have bad menstrual cramps which we take small white pills for.
A woman in a suit walks past us, her heels clicking loudly on the floor.
Then a man wearing a fancy exercise outfit bounds down the hall.
Emma and I realize that we're changing.
Our feet have turned into wheels.
We're quite happy about this,
and skate off down the hall.
