Fake Wake
Woke up and wrote down all my dreams.
Heirlooms
I'm at me grandparent's house (mom's side), only the house is warped.
I find a secret passage down a ladder that leads to a basement room
full of heirlooms passed down through the family.
I look carefully at a beautiful carved wooden grandfather clock.
There are a lot of extra people at the house.
I don't know them, and I can't find my grandparents, so I leave.
I walk to the bus stop (at Macdonald and 19th) and run into Chris (L).
We talk for a while, then he crosses the street and takes the next bus.
I turn to see if the bus is coming on my side of the street,
then start to walk north, to the next stop.
I find a group of people sitting on a hill near the sidewalk.
Someone named Sundeep (but he WASN'T Sundeep) wanders off, looking dazed.
2 attractive men with blue hair invite me to sit with them and offer me pear cider,
so I join them.
The Faust
I walk into a curio shop and realize that it's run by my grandparents
but neither of them recognizes me until I go up to say hello.
I'm with a friend that keeps repeatedly saying "you KNOW when you feel drunk."
I find a beautiful cedar box.
It's shaped like a treasure chest, inlayed inside,
and covered with finely etched plates of silver.
A small plaque reads "The Faust", and the pictures are magical.
(a dragon lady, veins, animals, people, patterns, etc.)
Inside it smells strongly of cedar.
I buy the box for a fraction of what it's worth ($40).
Grandpa is friendly, but grandma is rather aloof.
Beyond the marble wall
I'm in a large, somewhat dark building that seems droll but tidy -almost sterile.
(Odd, since in my dreams cleanness and brightness usually go hand in hand)
I'm wearing my thin blue cornflower dress.
I come to a display (I'm not sure what for).
It's a waist high wall made of navy blue marble.
It's diagonally set against a corner of the room, making a right angle triangle.
I look over the edge of the wall to see a deep pool (below the floor)
filled with fish and floating lotus blossoms.
There are two different types of fish; flashy quick, shiny, metallic ones
(much like overgrown neon tetras),
and giant albino Japanese goldfish slowly floating through the water,
perfectly interspersed and beautiful with their billowing whiteness.
A man wearing a white scuba mask comes up through the water
inviting anyone who wants to to jump into the pool.
A woman, either someone who works in the building
or a relative of a young boy who is standing near me,
is trying to get him to jump into the water,
telling him he'll get laid if he does.
I decide to jump in. I climb up onto the top of the wall and let myself fall, feet first.
I slip into the water, finding it wonderfully warm.
I can feel my dress billowing around me.
When I come to the surface, the pool is no longer in the building.
It's as if the building folded down on all four sides and then disappeared,
leaving the pool outside.
It's sunny and warm out, and there are many people in the pool, which seems to have expanded.
A tourist woman with a southern accent keeps insisting my dress is like a Spanish frock,
which it's not, but I eventually give up on attempting to make her accept this.
Doppleganger
I'm waiting in what I think is my parent's car, then realize I'm in a silver truck.
I pick up the two bags I have with me and set off to find their car.
When I do, I find that my mother has ordered take out for me.
She's going on about how I could get a salad and peppermint tea.
I look out the car window and see a red haired girl walking past; her hair in two braids.
She's wearing dark blue knee socks.
For some reason I wonder if she's me, so I want her to turn around,
but she doesn't.
