Cajun nightclub
I'm at a 'Cajun nightclub' with Kate and Lenny.
We're in a special room packing things into boxes and my purple travel bag.
I pack a lot of pens and fancy pencils, a Winnie the Pooh lamp,
a small blue china pig "with a cute nose", etc.
I wrap the breakables in clothing.
A large glass piggybank is the last thing I pack.
Outside, a bunch of girls are milling about, as if zombified barbie dolls.
A group of people are waiting to follow Len on tour,
including a very gay mustached man
who has parked his motorcycle outside the door to the room we're in.
This man pushes his way in and starts coming on to Len,
repeatedly asking him if he "wears Calvin's".
The man is forced to leave, but the incident has shaken Lenny.
Kate attempts to console him as I sort through the rest of the keepables
from the remaining pile of junk piled on a long table to my right.
Some of the things are broken.
I suddenly stand up and declare
"I'm a Scottish clansman! I don't need pens and pencils!"
I remove the majority of writing implements from my bag
-long ones, short ones, metallic and colourful ones- leaving them on the table.
We leave the room, wondering if people from the club will come in uninvited
to take the things we've left behind.
We enter a hall that leads to a rotunda, where I find a bouquet of fake flowers,
long and skinny and brightly coloured, with a $6.47 price tag attached.
I sit down at the top of a staircase
(the staircase doesn't go anywhere, just ends at the wall)
to wait for Kate and Lenny to return with the car.
